“Ekstrem” Armchair by Terje Ekström Norway, 1980s
The Ekstrem chair represents one of Norway’s earliest explorations into postmodern design. Its playful geometry allows for multiple seating positions — you can sit upright with feet on the ground, sideways with legs resting on the armrests, or even reversed with your torso leaning against the backrest. A truly unconventional and sculptural seating experience.
Constructed with a steel frame encased in soft foam and upholstered in a wool-knit fabric by Devold, the cover is knitted from a single continuous thread, giving it the elasticity needed to contour perfectly around the chair’s organic form. In Original condition.
This is an early model featuring rare detachable wooden riser legs. Contemporary versions still in production no longer include the wooden feet.
Dimensions: H:32.68 | W:27.56 | D:27.56
