Herman Miller Eames Upholstered Molded Plastic Task Armchair (Blue)

Charles and Ray Eames believed that “design is a method of action,” and they continually updated their work to suit changing needs and solve new problems. In 1948, they entered a prototype chair in MoMA’s International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design, which led to the launch of their Molded Shell dining chair collection in 1950. Three years later, they expanded it to include the Eames Task Chair (1953), first mounted on a four-star base but now available on a five-star base for markedly better stability. “The chair that Charles and Ray were designing,” explains grandson Eames Demetrios, “is the chair that’s made tomorrow.” This is the authentic Eames Task Chair by Herman Miller.
  • Designed for extended bouts of sitting.
  • Waterfall seat edge reduces pressure on thighs.
