Rare 1970s UMBO Shelving by Kay Leroy Ruggles for Directional (Small)

Very hard to find 1970s UMBO modular shelving unit designed by Kay Leroy Ruggles for Directional. Originally produced in white ABS plastic, this example has aged to a range of warm beige tones, which is typical and expected with age. The surface shows moderate fading on the shelves and sides, along with scattered scuffs, scratches, and signs of use. A true collector's piece with honest wear and rich vintage character.

The UMBO system, designed by Kay Leroy Ruggles, became an icon of futuristic modular design in the 1970s.
